Welcome to Tampere events

Connecting newcomers with essential services and local networks

Organized four times a year, the Welcome to Tampere event helps international newcomers settle into their new home. We will share tips for living and introduce you to services available for internationals in Tampere. By bringing together key public services, local organizations, and promoting network in one place, the event supports a successful relocation and integration experience while providing access to reliable information to help newcomers feel at home in their new city.

Participating organizations vary from event to event, but typically include public authorities and official services such as Tampere Employment Services, the Digital and Population Data Services Agency (DVV), the Finnish Tax Administration (Vero), Kela, and the Wellbeing Services County of Pirkanmaa (Pirha). Participants can also meet experts from International House Tampere’s services, including multilingual guidance, talent advisor services, as well as startup and entrepreneurship services. In addition, each event features local cultural, social, hobby, and community organizations that help newcomers connect with local life and networks in the Tampere region.
