Job Fair Tampere – more than just a recruitment event

However, the significance of the event is not limited to mere numbers. Job Fair Tampere is known as a low-threshold recruitment event, but it is also part of a much larger whole. It is a practical example of how internationality is built in everyday life, not just in strategies and goals.  

Tampere’s new mayor’s program emphasizes attracting international talent, supporting SMEs in their first international recruitments, and creating smooth employment paths for international students and job seekers. The City of Tampere’s employment strategy and international expertise plan, to be published in autumn 2025, also emphasizes the importance of anticipating the type of skilled labor that will be needed in the future. Job Fair Tampere responds to these goals in a concrete way. It provides a place where entrepreneurs can meet their future employees with a low threshold, and where skilled workers have the opportunity to be seen face to face.  

This year, participation does not require open job vacancies 

The event will be held in English and will focus specifically on jobs that do not require fluent Finnish language skills. Companies can participate in the 2025 event even if they do not have any job vacancies at the moment. The event offers companies an opportunity to develop their employer image, get to know local talent, and build networks for future recruitment. All participating companies will have access to a free exhibition stand and visibility in the event’s marketing. 

“Many companies are considering international recruitment, but the threshold seems high. Here, you can lower that threshold for a moment and come and see what kind of expertise is available. Sometimes you find the right person when you weren’t even planning to recruit in the first place,” says event coordinator Riho Laurisaar from International House Tampere.
